With BREEZE 3D Analyst you can easily plot your model results to Google Earth. These plots can serve as great visual tools when presenting your modeling results to colleagues or clients.

BREEZE Incident Analyst users can easily access the 3D Analyst through their software. With every license of Incident Analyst, a complimentary license of 3D Analyst is included.
3D Analyst is a powerful post-processor that enables you to analyze and visualize data in time series, 2D and 3D contour plots, and 3D isosurface and plane views, and also accomplish post-processing tasks such as adding and subtracting the results of two model runs or adding background concentrations. It is useful for analyzing meteorological data as well as toxic dispersion, fire, and explosion results.

To plot your BREEZE Incident Analyst model results to Google Earth, follow the steps below:

  • The first step is to run the model in Incident Analyst and then view your results in 3D Analyst. From your Incident Analyst software, 3D Analyst can be opened in the following three ways:
    • After a model run has finished, you can select the Analyze model results with 3D Analyst option from the model completion dialog as shown below.
    • Breeze 3D Analyst
    • Navigate to the Incident Tab and select the Graphical Results button in the Results group.
    • Breeze 3D Analyst
    • Click the Graphical Results button in the quick access toolbar
    • Breeze 3D Analyst
  • In BREEZE 3D Analyst, navigate to the Data Tab and select the Plot to... button in the Plotting group. Choose Google Earth… from the dropdown menu.
  • Breeze 3D Analyst
  • The Plot to Google Earth dialog box will consist of a Data Tab and a Google Earth Options Tab for setting specific options. Select the datasets and time periods for which you want to generate plots in Google Earth.
Note: Multiple plots can be generated and viewed in Google Earth by selecting several datasets and time periods.
  • Breeze 3D Analyst
  • The Google Earth Options Tab allows you to specify how you want the contours and model objects to appear in Google Earth.
  • Breeze 3D Analyst
  • Once the desired options and datasets are selected, click on the Plot button. If Google Earth is installed in your computer, it will automatically open and fly to the exact location of your plot based on the projection information in your Incident Analyst case.
Note: You can also save the plot file (.kml file) on your computer. This file can be shared with others and can be opened in Google Earth from any computer.
  • View the imported model results in Google Earth.
  • Breeze 3D Analyst

Note: You can select and display different datasets in Google Earth from the Places menu in the right hand column. This will allow you to view how the plume disperses over time.
